How it all began

By the end of the 19th Century, some of the early assembly missionaries had returned to the homelands. Since their names were no longer on the Echoes of Service List, there was a danger of their needs being forgotten by busy Christians, although never by their Heavenly Father. In 1914, three brethren. Mr. A. Boake, Mr W. Bilson and Dr E. Roche, formed the R.M.A.F. to channel what help they could to retired missionaries. The Fund works in close association with the Editors of Echoes of Service and the Trustees of Interlink in Scotland. Both groups are represented on the RMAF council.

How does it operate?

The Fund is supported by gifts from assemblies, from individuals and by legacies. It is operated by a committee (called a council) which currently consists of sixteen men representing all parts of the United Kingdom.
The council meets annually and the day-to-day running of the Fund is largely the responsibility of the Hon. Secretary, Asst. Hon. Secretary, the Hon. Treasurer and the Asst. Hon. Treasurer, who maintain close consultation.

Who does the Fund help?

Those retired missionaries who are commended by assemblies of believers in the British Isles and who have served in a foreign mission field for a significant number of years. Also widows and orphans of missionaries. When they retire through age or ill health, they continue to trust the Lord for His daily provision. R.M.A.F. is pleased to channel gifts entrusted to it to help towards their support.
